The Downs Light Railway – RAILWAY EXHIBITION & STEAM GALA 30th April & 1st May 2017

The Downs Light Railway celebrates completion of a four year programme of restoration works and its 90th birthday!
This unique 9  gauge miniature line has been a part of the Downs Malvern for over 90 years. The railway provides children with the opportunity to learn and experience many basic engineering skills including wood and metalwork and combines this with the opportunity of running their own steam operated railway.

To celebrate completion of vital repairs the Downs Light Railway Trust staged this superb public event involving many guest engines, static displays and model railways.
The railway carried over 700 people over the two days with the children operating the line under the supervision of the Downs Light Railway Trust, volunteers, parents and supporters.
This programme captures the atmosphere of the show and includes archive material, interviews and information on the railway. All aboard!
