Description
With so much variety of motive power and new flows it’s time to get serious about Rail Freight in the way that only Telerail does. In this programme we will take a look at changes over the last few years in the Railfreight Industry including the introduction of several important new freight workings.
Featuring:
GB Railfreight – Shap Harrison sidings to Ashton in Makerfield flow. new stone traffic on the Settle & Carlisle railway including traffic from Ribblehead sidings, Arcow Quarry and Rylstone to Leyland. The new stone loading point at Hillhead in the Peak District. Class 69s on the Mountfield gypsum workings and also on weedkiller trains. Biomass traffic including 56098 on the Liverpool Docks to Tuebrook trip.
DB Cargo – Sunderland Docks scrap flow, celebrity class 60s on the Tunstead to Lostock stone trains.
Colas Rail – Longport Land Recovery flows from Carlisle, Ravenstruther and Redcar. A short-term contract from Workington Docks to Drigg with class 56s and the slurry traffic. 70’s on the Lindsey oil trains. New log trains from Aberystwyth using class 97s and also the Hellifield working.
DRS – Highland Springs Blackford freight terminal. Shap Quarry to Crewe ballast train.
DCR – Burton flow & Ravenhead sand train.
Freightliner – Merehead & Whatley flows.
