There are surely few people who can fail to be moved by the atmosphere of an old-time country fair, and the Astle Park Traction Engine Rally has been attracting thousands of visitors for more than 20 years. Held annually at Chelford, in Cheshire, this impressive show features hundreds of attractions, including traction engines, Steam Rollers, Tractors and other agricultural machinery, vintage cars, fairground rides and organs.
The Rally draws enthusiasts to admire the showmen as they proudly participate in one of the country’s greatest outdoor spectacles, including the spectacular Saturday night fire work display. This programme takes the viewer to the heart of this lively show, with its ingredients of music and colour and capturing the unforgettable spirit of fun and adventure. Incidental music is provided by a De Leeuwin Dutch street organ (Old Comrades), a Carl Frei keyless organ (Under the Double Eagle), a Gavioli Trumpet organ (King Cotton) and others.
