Description
By March 31st 1997 the last BR passenger train operating company had been sold and with it came the end of British Rail’s passenger operations.
The integrated passenger network which was formed through the nationalisation of the nation’s railways in 1948 had lasted for nearly fifty years before privatisation took its final toll.
This superb programme takes a representative look at the new private companies’ operations throughout the British Isles in summer 1997. As well as looking at some of the striking new passenger liveries, this programme also takes a look at press criticism concerning reliabilty and ticketing.
With over sixty minutes of solid passenger action featuring many different classes, this new programme is a must for all connoisseurs of the current passenger scene.
