Description
With a shortage of available diesel multiple units over the last few years,
diesel loco haulage has once again made a welcome appearance. This
programme features all the main services operating around the UK in 2017.
The Cumbrian Coast Northern services –
Where better to see class 37 action than on the beautiful Cumbrian Coast line? DRS have supplied Northern with several large logo 37s for the push pull service. Locos include
37401, 37402, 37403, 37409, 37423, 37424, 37425.
Greater Anglia –
Another class 37 operated service using DRS locos are the trains from Norwich to Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft. Greater Anglia also ran until September 2017 class 68 services on the same route.
Arriva Trains Wales –
Class 67s are still used on services from Manchester Piccadilly to Holyhead, also from
Holyhead to Cardiff.
ScotRail Fife Circle –
A look at the morning and evening class 68 Fife Circle trains that operate from Edinburgh
Waverley to both Glenrothes with Thornton and Cardenden.
Chiltern Railways –
Another user of the class 68 is Chiltern Railways, which operates them on services from London Marylebone to Birmingham Moor Street, Oxford and Kidderminster.
Also included –
Great Western Railway Saturday only services with class 57s, Scotrail sleeper trains, Belmond
Royal Scotsman to Mallaig, Northern Belle and a selection of WCR charter services.
