Description
Thanks to a comparatively few far-sighted individuals the UK is blessed with an unrivalled variety of heritage lines. Amongst the first – and certainly one of the most successful preservation projects, was the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway, where work started to save this wonderful route even before the end of regular main line steam in 1968. Gavin Morrison needs no introduction to most railfans, however few people realize that as well as producing many famous books of wonderful photos he is also a talented film cameraman.
Featuring Gavin’s Morrison’s early films supplemented by contemporary material this programme contrasts the heady days in the1960s when a comparatively unknown line was saved, with today when the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway is one of the country’s most popular heritage lines. This brand new programme which captures many unique scenes over the years is bound to please anyone interested in railways.
Featuring an informative script, and authentic sound from the Peter Handford collection.
